The Kylie-Lazo Family

Hello, we are the Kylie-Lazo family (Patrick, Claudia, Isabel and Kevin). We’d like to think that our family experience during this quarantine hasn’t been much different from other families but, we do realize how lucky we are to be home together and to have a job that we can do from home, in that regard we are a little bit luckier than others. At times it has been hard as we can’t just go whenever we need something or when we would like to visit a friend. Individually, this isolation has been harder for my son who is very social and misses his friends, also, he will probably won’t have a high school graduation and although he says he is okay with it now it might change once the end of the school year approaches, but we will be here to cheer him on!
On the other hand, this isolation period has given us the chance to connect more as a family and to bring us closer to God. We have come to realize that although we miss attending mass physically, it hasn’t stopped us from attending mass even if it is a virtual one. Because at the end of the day, God is with us no matter where we are, and if He is good us everything will be okay.
Hola, somos la familia Kylie-Lazo (Patrick, Claudia, Isabel and Kevin). Queremos pensar que la experiencia familiar durante esta cuarentena no ha sido muy diferente de otras familias, pero también nos damos cuenta de que somos afortunados de poder están en casa juntos y por tener un trabajo que podemos continuar desde casa, por esta razón somos un poco mas afortunados que los demás. En ocasiones ha sido difícil no poder salir cuando necesitamos algo o queremos ir a visitar a un amigo. Individualmente, este periodo de aislamiento ha sido más difícil para mi hijo desde que él es el muy social y siempre esta rodeado de amigos a los cuales extraña, probablemente él no tenga graduación de la preparatoria y aunque él diga que esta bien si no la tiene tal vez cambie de parecer una vez que el año escolar se acerque a su fin, pero aquí estaremos para alentarlo.
Por otro lado, este aislamiento nos ha dado la oportunidad de conectarnos mas como familia y nos ha acercado mas a Dios o a nuestra espiritualidad. Nos hemos dado cuenta de que, aunque no asistamos a misa físicamente eso no nos detiene a asistir a misa, aunque sea virtualmente; porque, al final de día, Dios está con nosotros sin importar donde estemos y mientras Él este con nosotros todo estará bien.
