Apart from Baptism, one of the most recognizable sacramental moments in a child’s life is the celebration of First Communion. It is during this celebration that we commemorate the depth of God’s love for your child. More than just a solitary moment in time, your child’s first communion marks the beginning of an exciting faith journey which Jesus pledges by this sacramental gift to always be a part of.
What Can You Expect From Us?
As with any sacrament, you can expect that you will be welcomed and supported in the faith formation of your child. It is our goal with the assistance of our Catholic schools to help prepare you and your child for the celebration of the sacrament.
Every year at the beginning of the school year, the coordinator of Youth Ministry will contact our parish schools as well as notify others through the parish bulletin regarding the time for registration for this sacrament.
We celebrate the sacrament of First Communion during the season of Easter. Your family will be invited to sign up for a particular Sunday Eucharist during the Season of Easter and with the rest of the Assembly we will celebrate your child’s first communion.
What Do We Expect From You?
As we believe that your child will be make a bold profession in the real presence of Jesus in the Eucharistic Feast, we would presume that you and your family would desire to celebrate this mystery on a weekly basis. It would be our hope that to the best of your ability you would practice your faith with the parish family.
Thank you for considering North Central Windsor Catholic Family of Parishes as the parish for the celebration of your child’s first communion.
