"You are, all of you, children of God through faith
in Christ Jesus. All baptized in Christ, you have clothed
yourselves in Christ, and there are no more distinctions…
But all of you are one in Christ Jesus".
- Galatians 3
We are truly happy that you are considering the gift of Baptism for your child. We believe that Baptism is the doorway to life in the Kingdom of God. We believe that God calls each one of us by name and He does so in the midst of a believing Christian community, for where two or three gather in the name of Jesus, He is there.
What Can You Expect?
We celebrate the sacrament of Baptism at one of our Sunday Liturgies on the first Sunday of every month (excluding the Sunday’s of Lent). These celebrations are on Saturday evening at 5 PM or on Sunday.
When you contact the parish to arrange for Baptism you can expect to experience a welcoming greeting. Typically Baptisms are celebrated in the parish where the one or both of the parents are attending. Our Secretary will gather some basic information from you and you can expect to receive a call from one of our Baptismal home visitors. The Baptism home visitor will call you and set up a time when they can visit you at your residence and explain what happens during the sacrament of baptism.
What Do We Expect from You?
According to the Baptismal Ritual of the Catholic Church, the parent(s) must be able to make a renunciation of sin and a profession of faith in Jesus Christ and his holy Church. For your part, you must have the desire to raise your child in the practice of the faith, seeing to it that the flame of faith will grow stronger in their life. It would be our hope that you and your child would practice your faith in the midst of the Sunday community.
