Act of Entrustment and
Novena for St. Joseph

  •

    Dear Brothers in Christ,

The Canadian Catholic Conference of Bishops, in solidarity with the Holy Father's proclamation of a "Year of Saint Joseph", has invited us to celebrate an Act of Entrustment to Saint Joseph on Thursday, 1 July 2021 (Canada Day).

The Act of Entrustment is preceded by a Novena imploring St. Joseph's intercession for the welfare of the entire country, for the many needs of society, and to pray in particular for those who have died due to COVID-19.
The Novena will begin on Tuesday, 22 June and end on Wednesday, 30 June.

Bishop Fabbro and I invite you to join the faithful across our country in praying the Novena in your parishes, and on July 1, celebrate an Act of Entrustment to St. Joseph. I will be celebrating the Mass followed by the Act of Entrustment to St. Joseph at St. Peter's Cathedral Basilica on 30 June at 12:00 p.m., which will be live-streamed across the diocese for those parishioners who cannot attend Mass due to the current government restrictions. The link for this live-stream will be made available at a later date.

I ask that you make this Novena prayer available to your parishioners through advertisement in your bulletin and on your social media pages. Parishioners can find the information on the CCCB website here.

In preparation, click here for a resource document (in English and French) prepared by the two CCCB National Liturgy Offices.

    St. Joseph, pray for us.

    Fraternally yours in Christ,
    Most Rev. Joseph Dabrowski, C.S.M.A.

    Auxiliary Bishop
