FROM THE PASTOR’S PEN for Sunday, January 17th, 2021
Dear Parishioners and friends of North Central Windsor Catholic Family of Parishes,
During the present lock-down restrictions and the State of Emergency we are presently in, Sunday Mass will be live-streamed from Most Precious Blood every Saturday starting at 5:00 p.m. The Mass can be viewed either on our Parish of Families Website or Facebook.
Please stay safe. I look forward to that Glorious Day when we can return to the practice of our faith in all of our Churches.
On behalf of the North Central Windsor Catholic Family of Parishes, I extend my deepest sympathies to the many families from our Family of Parishes who has lost a loved one since January1st, 2021. Be assured of our thoughts and prayers as we ask God to bring His Peace and consolation to their broken hearts.
Tax receipts for 2020 will be available at the end of January. This year, unlike others, you cannot pick up your receipt at Church or at the Mass. Therefore, we are looking at having to mail over 1500 tax receipts.
To help save on the postage, you can request your tax receipt to be e-mailed to you (and then you print it out). To do so, simply send an e-mail to mpbwin@dol.ca with a request to have your receipt e-mailed to you. Thank you for all of your donations throughout the year and for understanding this different process. Any receipts that cannot be e-mailed will be mailed by February 15th.
The annual Week of Prayer for Christian Unity will be celebrated, starting this week, January 18th to the 25th 2021 on the theme “Abide in my love and you shall bear much fruit” (John 15:5-9). The resources in English and in French can be freely downloaded from the Canadian website for the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity. The theme and biblical texts for this annual Week of Prayer are jointly prepared by the Holy See’s Pontifical Council for Promoting Christian Unity and the Commission on Faith and Order of the World Council of Churches. The thematic introduction to the 2021 materials comes from the Monastic Community of Grandchamp in Switzerland, a group of religious sisters from different church traditions brought together by a common vocation of prayer, community life and hospitality and by their commitment to Christian unity. National and regional Councils of Churches adapt the resources for their local context. The resources for Canada are produced by an ecumenical writing team coordinated by the Commission on Faith and Witness of the Canadian Council of Churches (CCC).
A Christian Prayer for Unity
One only Holy Spirit of Father and son
in whom all are baptized,
one giver of many gifts,
one tree of many fruits
one speaker of every tongue, renew in our day
the wonders of Pentecost,
grant that people of every race and nation
may understand one another, and as one, proclaim
the praises of God.
Grant that all may be one
as you, Spirit, with the Father and the Son
are one God, one Lord.
Grant unity to the Body of Christ;
grant unity to the human family.
Sole breath of every living thing,
may all be one who, in you,
live and move and have their being

Memorial Wall to be created in Our Lady of Guadalupe Church Hall
In spite of the pandemic raging around us and like many other worthy organizations competing for scarce funds in our city, there is an ongoing need to raise funds to pay for the OLOG Church Hall. Our Fundraising Committee, headed by Tom O’Brien, will be creating a “Memorial Wall” in the Church Hall. The Memorial Wall will have the image of Our Lady of Guadalupe accompanied by Memorial Wall Plaques in memory of loved ones of members of our parish family. Special thanks to the generosity of the San Juan Diego Church Community for agreeing to pay for the Memorial Wall. Memorial Wall Plaques are available to interested parishioners for a minimum donation or $100 or more. All funds raised will be used to pay for the Church Hall. Applications are available on the OLOG website at this link

An Act of Spiritual Communion
My Jesus,
I believe that You
are present in the Most Holy Sacrament.
I love You above all things,
and I desire to receive You into my soul.
Since I cannot at this moment
receive You sacramentally,
come at least spiritually into my heart.
I embrace You as if You were already there
and unite myself wholly to You.
Never permit me to be separated from You.
Amen.
